About the Heart of England Narrow Gauge Modellers

Who are you?

We are a group of railway modellers with a shared interest in narrow-gauge railways.

When do you meet?

We normally meet once a month – on a Saturday at the 22nd Rugby Scout Hut.

What do you do?

At our meetings members can help with our club layouts, bring their own items to run on the test tracks, or simply meet with other like-minded modellers sharing conversation and advice over a cup of tea.

We issue a monthly newsletter to members to keep in touch with group activities and developments in the narrow-gauge modelling community.

What scales do you cover?

We are a recognised group within both the 009 and 7mm Narrow Gauge societies.

We have an increasing number of members operating larger scale models (Gn-15, SM32).

Can I come to a meeting?

Guests are welcome to come along to our meetings to get to know us and see if you want to join.

Guests are asked to make a contribution of £5 towards costs of refreshments and hut rental.

How much will it cost?

Members pay a small annual membership fee which goes towards the rental for the hut and the cost of refreshments.

This is just £30 for 2024.

Do I need to be an expert modeller?

We are an “all-ability” group and welcome both longstanding modellers and those who are new to the hobby. We provide a friendly, non-judgemental safe space for all levels and modelling interests.

Will there be cake?

There’s always tea and coffee at our meetings – and very often there’s cake too.
